Police said the 26-year-old woman was sitting inside a vehicle with two boys, ages 1 and 6-years-old, in the 2700 block of West Lexington Street in East Garfield Park around 4:20 a.m. Monday.
According to police, she was approached by two men who implied they had a weapon. The woman and 1-year-old boy were forced out of the vehicle.
The offenders then fled in the woman’s vehicle with the 6-year-old boy still inside. After a short distance, the boy was forced outside too, police said.
The offenders then fled again and crashed the vehicle on the expressway. No injuries were reported.
Police said one of the men was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
