Indiana DNR sending 16 conservation officers to Kentucky to assist with flood relief efforts

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is joining the flood relief effort in Kentucky.

According to a DNR Facebook post, 16 conservation officers were deployed to assist flood victims in the Bluegrass State. The DNR captured several of its trucks towing boats in the pictures attached to its Facebook post.

WDKY, a Kentucky-based station affiliated with FOX59 and CBS4, reported that at least eight people have died in floods in eastern and southern portions of the state. An additional report from WDKY indicated rescue and mutual aid efforts are still ongoing across Kentucky.

Indiana Task Force 1 was activated on Saturday and 49 of its members were dispatched to Kentucky to assist with search and rescue operations.

As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the Indiana DNR officers’ deployment in Kentucky had been made available.
