Man arrested by ICE near Salt Lake airport, SLCPD says

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A man was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Monday morning near the Salt Lake City International Airport, according to police.

Agents with ICE conducted a traffic stop “on the car rental return road” at the airport, according to officials.

Brent Weisberg, a spokesperson for the Salt Lake City Police Department, said in a statement that the traffic stop occurred shortly after 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10. Officers with SLCPD arrived at the scene after the arrest had been made.

“Preliminary information available to the SLCPD indicates the arrestee is associated to at least one active arrest warrant and may be under investigation for other alleged crimes,” Weisberg said.
