Loyola boys’ soccer scores four goals to punch ticket to state title game

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Loyola boys’ soccer put up four goals to take down Archbishop Hannan in the semifinals on Friday night at Messmer stadium. The Flyers 4-3 victory punched Loyola’s ticket to the state title game.

The Hawks snagged a one goal lead right before half, but the Flyers came out fast in the second half quickly tying the game again.

Archbishop Hannan pulled in front again, taking a 3-2 lead, but Loyola responded in a powerful way.

EJ Kerr launched a rocket from the 30-yard line finding the back of the net and tying the game once more.

Whit Sample came up big for the Flyers drilling a goal to give Loyola a 4-3 lead and punch the Flyers ticket to the state title game.

No. 1 Loyola will face the winner between No. 3 Bossier vs. No. 2 University Lab at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19th in Strawberry Stadium on Southeastern Louisiana University’s campus in Hammond, Louisiana.
