Dreamscapes reopens just in time for Valentine’s Day

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Dreamscapes is back — and just in time to bring your sweetheart in for a Valentine’s Day date at its new Gateway location.

In May 2024, Dreamscapes, which was previously at The Shops at South Town, announced that it would be moving as the Utah NHL team plans to build a training facility at the mall.

Now, after five months of rebuilding, Dreamscapes is welcoming guests back to enjoy its immersive walk-through experience starting Friday, Feb. 14. This move marks the fourth iteration of Dreamscapes since its start and a return for the exhibit to The Gateway, where it resided in 2019.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Dreamscapes back to The Gateway, the original home of this incredible experience,” says Julissa Breslin, Marketing Director for The Gateway. “Utah Arts Alliance has played a key role in helping The Gateway become a dynamic destination for locals and visitors alike. Re-launching Dreamscapes here is a significant step in expanding their footprint and complementing the variety of experiences we offer.”

Dreamscapes focuses on merging physical artwork, technology, and upcycled materials to bring imagination to life. A press release from the Utah Arts Alliance said at the Gateway location, visitors can expect to see new artwork, interactive elements, and familiar pieces from its previous home.

“We are excited to unveil the reimagined Dreamscapes, continuing to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation,” says Derek Dyer, Executive Director of Utah Arts Alliance. “This new chapter introduces interactive experiences for all ages, reinforcing our commitment to innovative art forms and community engagement. We invite everyone to explore this fantastical world where dreams come to life.”

With each move, the Utah Arts Alliance says they look to reinvent the experience, adding new artists and elements, which includes this recent move. Visitors will find murals by local established artist Scott Tuckfield, as well as new artists such as Josie Callahan.

Tickets for the Dreamscapes can be bought online at $16.99 for adults, $11.99 for children, and discounts for seniors, military, teachers, and students.
