Cynthia Alvidrez files for Abilene City Council seat once again

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Cynthia Alvidrez is making another bid for the Abilene City Council, challenging incumbent Kyle McAlister and candidate Miguel Espinoza.

On February 14, Alvidrez officially filed to run for the Abilene City Council Place 5 position. Alvidrez is a lifelong resident of Abilene who served in the military for four and a half years. Known as somewhat of an influencer, she is not afraid to call out council members or even the Mayor of Abilene.

Alvidrez has previously run for public office multiple times, including a 2020 mayoral bid against Mayor Anthony Williams and a 2023 run for City Council Place 3, where she lost to Blaise Ragan. Her first attempt was in 2019 for City Council Place 5, where she lost to Kyle McAlister.
