Congressman Cleo Fields: DEI rollbacks ‘not a good thing for America’

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)- Cleo Fields, the Louisiana Congressman representing the newly formed Sixth Congressional District, visited Shreveport on Friday to discuss what is happening in Washington, D.C.

Fields said he is happy to represent parts of North Louisiana and came to Shreveport for several meetings. The Trump administration’s rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs was one of the topics he discussed.

He said, “Diversity and inclusion that’s a good thing for America, and I think we should always welcome that type of attitude and to be the CEO of America and one of the first things you do is do away with, you know, diversity and inclusion, to me it doesn’t speak well for the country.”

Fields says he looks forward to more visits to North Louisiana and will fight against things that could negatively affect the people of Louisiana.
