Earlier this week, we asked East Idaho News users to send in love stories so we could honor a special couple for Valentine’s Day.
We received one about Ken and Linda Olsen. It said:
My mom and dad have been married a little over 61 years. When mom was 13 attending Rigby, a boy who liked her had taken some pictures of her. He asked one of his friends, my dad, who was attending Bonneville High School, if he would develop them for him. That’s when my dad fell in love with the girl in the pictures.
They dated for four years and wrote letters back and forth as my mom attended high school and my dad was at Utah State. We found one of the letters and on the envelope, my dad wrote LMT LMT (Love Me Tender, Love Me True).
They were married Sept. 21, 1964, right after my mom started her senior year of high school. They went on to raise five of the most incredible kids. They have 21 grandkids, 15 great-grandkids, and hopefully some great-greats soon.
They went through good times, bad times, all the things, and love always kept them together. Today my dad still says my mom is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. A true eternal love story.
We thought Ken and Linda were deserving of a Valentine’s Day Feel Good Friday and we surprised them at their home. Check it out in the video player above!
