The Caddo Parish District Attorney said Tory Reed, 37, was charged with setting fire to the home of her then-boyfriend’s mother in the 5500 block of Ben Jai Drive
Reed was dating Jenealious Johnson at the time of the fire, which burned the home altogether, and she admitted to setting the fire. She admitted to investigators that her intent was only to fire the living room couch. However, the fire spread quickly and fully engulfed the entire home.
She was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries, but the fire caused more than $54,000 in damage to the house.
Sentencing is set for February 24; at that time, Reed could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for hard labor and a fine of up to $15,000.
