The Portland and Vancouver metros could see a chance of rain, freezing rain briefly and then a quick snow transition Thursday evening.
However, another hit of winter weather is forecasted by the National Weather Service, and depending on your location, it could be snow or ice in your area.
In Portland and Vancouver, a mix of rain, snow and freezing rain is possible after midnight, with snow accumulation ranging from an inch to four inches. Ice could build up to a tenth of an inch through the central and southern Willamette Valley.
However, in places such as Salem, Keizer, Wilsonville and McMinnville and Newberg, there will be less snow accumulation, with up to a quarter of an inch of ice accumulation possible.
Winter storm warnings are in effect for much of the region until 10 a.m. on Friday, with a cold weather advisory in effect until noon on Friday for the Portland and Vancouver metro areas.
Meanwhile, a wind advisory for Portland is slated to expire at 4 p.m. Thursday, while a wind advisory for East Multnomah County will expire by 10 p.m. Thursday.
Parts of the Willamette Valley, including Salem, are under an ice storm warning, which will be in effect until 4 a.m. on Friday.
Temperatures are expected to warm up fairly quickly this weekend, with highs in the lower to upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s. However, there will be more precipitation, this time in the form of rain. The rain could help aid in the melting rate for snow and ice this weekend.
