Brody Michael Slayton was charged with one count of first-degree rape after police received a report from the victim and her family about “multiple incidents of sexual abuse.”
According to arrest documents, the victim told police the abuse began when she was under 10 years old. In a written statement, the victim said the abuse included non-consensual kissing, inappropriate touching, oral sex, and intercourse that happened during overnight stays or playing hide and seek.
The victim’s father told officials that his daughter told him that Slayton had been abusing her for years in January. During a forensic interview, the victim told investigators that she was afraid to disclose the abuse earlier because Slayton had allegedly threatened her multiple times.
Arrest documents said the victim also told investigators that Slayton would hold her down and cover her mouth, telling her that he would kill her if she told anyone.
Police said that the victim’s statements in the interview were consistent with the initial statements she and her family provided, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
