Chicago police said 21-year-old Geiderwuin Morales and 29-year-old Jefferson Ubilla-Delgado have each been charged with one count of murder and one count of robbery.
At around 11 p.m. Sunday, CPD responded to the 7600 block of West Talcott Avenue and found 63-year-old George Levin unresponsive in a basement bedroom. He was bound with duct tape and an extension cord.
After an autopsy was done on Levin’s body, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office found he died of multiple injuries and ruled his death a homicide.
Chicago police sources told WGN News both Morales and Ubilla-Delgado are migrants — one of them is from Venezuela and the other is from Ecuador. Sources also said Levin allegedly connected with one of the suspects on a dating app before inviting him to the home.
Morales was arrested on Thursday in the 2600 block of North Troy Street in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood, while Ubilla-Delgado was arrested Wednesday in the 6100 block of North Northwest Highway in Norwood Park, about a mile-and-a-half from the crime scene, according to investigators.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
