Morgan County Rescue Squad, Falkville Fire rescues man stranded on flooded road

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Morgan County Rescue Squad along with the Falkville Fire Department rescued a man on a flooded roadway Thursday morning.

Officials said that a vehicle was stuck in floodwaters with the driver stranded on the roof of the vehicle.

As assistance arrived, the vehicle was submerged in water.

A Swiftwater Rescue Swimmer from Falkville Fire along with one from the Rescue Squad entered the water and made contact with the man.

The driver was placed in a life jacket and removed from the water. He was then taken to the hospital by EMS to be evaluated.

Falkville Fire/Rescue, Falkville Police Department, Morgan County Rescue Squad, Decatur Morgan EMS, and Morgan County 911 all assisted during the incident.
