Jackson Police Department introduces new patrol cars

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department (JPD) introduced their new patrol cars on Wednesday, February 12.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said the design of the new vehicles was voted on by the men and women of JPD.

Wade said the new patrol cars will be assigned to senior officers of the department.

“These vehicles symbolize a lot to me. They are a symbol of progress. They are a symbol of efficiency. They are a symbol of integrity, pride and honor of the men and women of the Jackson Police Department. They also symbolize the unwavering commitment to the people, the citizens of Jackson. We are excited for the citizens to see these vehicles in action. This is a new chapter for their Jackson Police Department,” said Wade.

The vehicles have guard bumpers and new lights. The department is also in the processing of installing dash cameras into the patrol cars.
