GREENE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Bond has been denied for a man charged with accessory after the fact to a New Year’s Day triple homicide in State Line.

Drexler Johnson appeared before a Greene County judge on Friday, February 7. An investigator with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office testified that Johnson was arrested after a witness came forward and told deputies that Johnson stated he had information about the shooting.

Johnson allegedly told the witness that he had hidden the gun that was used during the shooting. The investigator said the gun was found where Johnson had allegedly told the witness where it would be.

The investigator also testified that Johnson denied saying anything about hiding the gun, but he admitted to speaking with the witness about the crime. Johnson allegedly knew other details about the shooting.

Prosecutors argued that there was enough probable cause to arrest Johnson. The defense disagreed and argued that the witness was not reliable. However, the judge sided with the prosecution and said Johnson was a menace to society due to his other arrests. The case against Johnson will be turned over to a grand jury.

On January 1, store clerk Rhonda Denson, her boyfriend Lester Campbell, and customer Jason Thornton were killed at the Clark’s Exxon gas station on Saint Peter Street.

Authorities said the suspect who carried out the shooting has not been captured. Greene County deputies said they’re following up on multiple leads in the case.
