Detective Tommie Brown said Joshua Malik Boothe, 24, was arrested by officers shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6.
Officers responded to the incident at the OYO Townhouse on Beasley Road just after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4.
According to police, a woman was deceased inside the hotel. Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said the victim received large, traumatic injuries to her body.
Brown identified the victim as Jessenia Cruz, 21.
