Afterward, former Mayor Brown was appointed as Interim City Administrator. Brown emphasized that the meeting was conducted with full public awareness as a push for transparency between city staff and Clyde residents. Brown said his decision to step into the interim City Administrator role was made to ensure a smooth transition, allowing ongoing city projects to continue without disruption during the search for a permanent administrator.
“I love being that servant to our community, and knowing that within a couple of months, my service to my community may be completely over with is tough,” Brown shared. “I’ll step back with the knowledge that I always did the best I could for the citizens.”
Newly appointed Mayor Paul McGuire added, “We’ve got some big projects coming that we hope to announce soon, but we’re just going to do what’s best for the citizens and for the city of Clyde and keep us moving forward.”
Former City Administrator Chris McGuire submitted his resignation and accepted a position with another city. The city is partnering with Clear Career Professionals to conduct a nationwide search for a highly qualified candidate to fill the role of City Administrator.
