UPDATE: Victim in stable condition following Monday night shooting in north Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Police have released additional details about the Monday night shooting in Abilene that left a woman injured.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on January 27, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of North Willis Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a woman had been shot while inside a house.

According to the Abilene Police Department, the suspect appears to have fired multiple shots at the house from an alley. A neighbor told our reporter they heard five shots, though police have yet to confirm the number of rounds fired.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

At this time, no suspects have been identified. The APD Major Crimes Bureau is actively investigating the incident.
