Fatal rollover on wet roads in Taylor County

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A crash in Taylor County claimed the life of a Novice man Wednesday morning.

At 9:54 a.m. on January 29, 2025, a single-vehicle crash occurred on FM 382, just under half a mile south of County Road 178, near Lawn, Texas. According to a DPS preliminary report, the driver was traveling at an unsafe speed on wet roads when the vehicle skidded sideways off the roadway, flipped, and ejected the driver.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Jose Luis Ramirez Jr. of Novice, Texas, was the sole fatality in the crash.

DPS reported that road conditions were wet and foggy at the time. The preliminary report also indicates that Ramirez was not wearing a seatbelt.
