18-wheeler rear-ended in Taylor County, 2 injured

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A semi-truck and a car collided on 277 South near Caps, Texas, on Wednesday afternoon, leaving two people injured.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash on January 22 occurred when a semi-truck traveling in the northbound lane stopped to make a left turn into Petrosmith, located in the 7400 block of Highway 277. A car traveling behind the semi-truck rear-ended it.

DPS reported that the driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the passenger suffered serious injuries and was transported by Taylor County EMS. Sheriff Ricky Bishop said the View Volunteer Fire Department crew had to extract the passenger from the vehicle.

Traffic in the area is currently unaffected, and no further details have been released. BigCountryHomepage.com will provide updates if more information becomes available.
