Wake-Up Weather: our next weather marker arrives tonight

Wake-Up Weather: our next weather marker arrives tonight
Wednesday, January 8th, 2025

Summary: Some snow virga possible with most if not all of it evaporating before reaching the surface, A gorgeous sunrise underway as we have a few clouds building. We will likely see some brief clearing for areas south of I-20. This will allow temperatures to climb into the upper 30’s to lower 40’s. Forecast as trended warmer and drier as we look to our next weather maker which has slowed and appears weaker. Temperatures will barely drop to below freezing tomorrow with winds shifting out of the south we will see moisture increase, with cold air in place we could see some wintry mix early before warming takes place and we see a brief transition to cold rain possible. This looks even more likely for the heartland. Heading into Friday the wrap around remnants of the low pushing east could bring snow flurries to close out Friday morning. Temperatures will warm into the weekend before a back door front moves keep the cooler air around longer.

Today: Mostly cloudy with breaks in the clouds before moving back in with winter precipitation forming out west. High Temperature: 40° Winds: NNE 5-10 MPH

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a chance for snow and a wintry mix past midnight. Low Temperature: 29° Winds: S 5-10 MPH
