ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Abilene Independent School District (AISD) has placed safety signs on its campuses.
The safety signs state that school marshals are armed and will use any force necessary to protect their students.
“Thank you so much to everyone who made these signs happen. Maintenance, security, purchasing. I appreciate you all!.” Abilene ISD Superintendent Dr. John Kuhn said.
These signs came from the School Marshal program, which involves arming certain school personnel. However, visitors were often unaware of the program because no visible signs indicated its presence.
