Clyde and Baird fire departments arrived at the home just north of Clyde around midnight. KTAB/KRBC has received statements from the family through a family friend, though there is no official word from authorities now.
The family stated they could not speak to the cause of the fire as it is still under active investigation, though the structure was deemed a total loss. The family requested that no one go by to visit the property.
The family went on to state that three people were inside the home at the time of the fire. Two occupants, whom they do not want to identify, were transported to the hospital and are in critical condition; the third, 58-year-old Deborah or Debbie Kay Faircloth, has been identified as the sole fatality of the fire.
The family says a memorial gathering in her honor will be held one week from today, Saturday, January 11, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Baird.
Faircloth’s obituary on the Parker Jacobs Funeral Home website provides more information about the service and links to send flowers to the family.
