On April 17, 2024, officers found Randle Dean Burleigh, possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, sitting on a curb in South Abilene.
Officers say that during the conversation, Burleigh told police he deserved to go to jail for molesting three children. An officer informed him of his constitutional rights and then asked Burleigh to elaborate on his statement.
Court documents indicate that Burleigh ultimately admitted to having four victims, one that may have accrued after the initial 2016 investigation. The abuse may have gone all the way back to 2013.
Burleigh is held in the Taylor County Jail with a bond set at $300,000.
