DUBOIS — Southbound traffic on Interstate 15 is detouring around Stoddard Creek Bridge.
The bridge at Exit 184 has been closed due to the damaged and deteriorating road surface.
Interstate traffic is slowed to 45 miles per hour and is directed to ramps where drivers can proceed without stops.
The Idaho Transportation Department has also closed West Camas Creek Road under the bridge to allow for this detour.
ITD already had plans to improve Stoddard Creek Bridge early next spring. However, with the bridge condition worsening, the improvements will start in January. ITD expects the repairs to take several months. The bridge closure will stay in place until spring.
The ITD Dubois maintenance crew and other operations personnel are monitoring the closure area daily. ITD will stay involved to keep traffic in this area moving safely through the winter.
