Rollover crash in Ashland slows traffic on I-86 Tuesday afternoon

UPDATE: The crash has since been cleared.


ASHLAND, N.Y. (WETM) – One lane is closed on I-86 this afternoon after a rollover crash took place in the town of Ashland, located between Elmira and Lowman.

The crash took place just after 3:30 p.m. on the town of Elmira line in Ashland, just east of the Lowman exit, on Tuesday, Feb. 20. State Police, as well as several fire and EMS agencies, responded to the scene.

According to an 18 News reporter on the scene, emergency crews are working on both sides of the highway to clear up the crash. The vehicle was seen in the median on the highway, which has slowed down traffic as crews work to clear the crash.

At least five ambulances were seen in connection to the crash, three at the scene and two on the way to the scene. One person was seen being loaded onto a stretcher, and another was seen stepping into the back of the ambulance.
