This year’s fest is set to take place from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6, and include daytime experiences at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and a concert series at the Caesars Superdome.
Organizers said this year’s fest is “a love letter to the ones who know the deep cuts, vocal runs, and the magic of a perfectly curated set.”
On Tuesday, May 20, festival organizers announced that this year’s music lineup will be expanded with performances from Babyface and a curated show “featuring three generations of Philly soul royalty” with Jill Scott, Patti LaBelle and Jazmine Sullivan.
Festival organizers said an “ESSENCE Flowers” tribute presented by Jermaine Dupri will be held to honor “music titan” Quincy Jones with performances from Tyrese, Al B. Sure!, Robin Thicke, SWV, Xscape, The Pharcyde and Mobb Deep.
Festivalgoers can also look forward to Erykah Badu, Ari Lennox, Psiryn, MOLIY and Doug E. Fresh as part of the lineup, which spans multiple generations and genres.
Headliners Boyz II Men, Davido, Master P and Maxwell were announced in April.
Organizers said Master P will be joined by Mia X, Silkk the Shocker, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Dru Hill and Keri Hilson.
Other artists set to perform include Buju Banton, Donell Jones, GloRilla, The Isley Brothers, Muni Long, Nas and Summer Walker.
