A man accused of attempting to kidnap a teenager and reportedly sexually assaulting another has been arrested.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, both incidents were reported on Sept. 28, one in the city of Ramsey and another in Coon Rapids.
The Ramsey incident was reported at 2:05 p.m.; a teenager told authorities a man in a vehicle had tried to abduct her when she was walking near Alpine Drive Northwest and Vicuna Street Northwest.
The second incident, which occurred in Coon Rapids, was reported at 10:25 p.m. when another teenager said a man in a vehicle had chased her and sexually assaulted her near Northdale Boulevard Northwest and Marigold Street Northwest.
Because the incidents were similar, law enforcement agencies partnered for the investigation.
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said Flock cameras played a key role in identifying the suspect’s vehicle, later leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old Ramsey man on Friday.
