UK software firm Interact has deployed Workday’s mid-market HR platform in just 12 weeks. The company went live on Workday HCM, Absence Management and Recruiting through Workday GO, the vendor’s packaged offering designed for agile organisations. Interact serves more than 1,500 organisations across Europe, the US and Asia.Headquartered in London, Interact sells an AI-native employee experience platform. Its customer roster includes Levi’s, Domino’s, Teva Pharmaceuticals and Subway. The 250-person workforce now runs HR on a single cloud foundation instead of a patchwork of legacy tools.
Interact had already built an integration between its own Employee Experience Platform and Workday, adding to integrations it had already built with UKG, SAP, Service Now and Microsoft Entra.
The Legacy Problem That Drove the Change
Interact’s old HR system could no longer keep pace as the business expanded. Custom fields were blocked. Small changes required a formal IT request. Performance reviews depended on emailed, password-protected spreadsheets. Leaders had to chase those files manually. The company needed a flexible HR foundation that could scale alongside growth. Workday GO delivered that foundation.
Choosing Workday GO
Interact decided to implement Workday. However, no doubt concerned by the stories or long implementation time, the firm opted to embrace the Workday GO methodology.
Workday GO targets organisations with roughly 500 to 3,500 employees. CEO Carl Eschenbach described the sweet spot as sitting near 1,500 staff. The package uses fixed scope and preconfigured best practices. Delivery runs eight to 12 weeks instead of the 12 to 18 months typical for full Workday deployments.
The platform shares the same underlying architecture as the enterprise edition. Customers switch on modules as they grow. Workday competes against Rippling, HiBob and Personio in the sector, with Workday GO as a rapid implementation framework is a differentiator.
Dan Wardin, CTO of Interact, explained the reasoning behind the selection. He said, “Workday offered the depth of customisation, integration, and features we needed to keep growing without outgrowing the system again in a year or two.”
He added that the platform has given Interact the operational discipline to run HR consistently across the business. It also returns time to the team by removing administrative overhead.
Now implemented,- Interact’s distributed teams now handle everyday HR tasks inside one connected experience. Employee and organisational data flows into Interact’s own intranet platform. Executives pull workforce insights during decision-making meetings rather than waiting on reports.
Leaders evaluate talent from a single screen instead of reviewing spreadsheets. Workday also automates joiner, mover and leaver access through an internal asset tool. The result is faster, more informed conversations about people and performance.
The Partner and the Road Ahead
Implementation partner Albida provided the team that delivered HCM and Absence Management within 12 weeks to Interact. It is not even their fastest Workday implementation. In March 2026, it announced that it had installed HR, Finance, and PSA in just seven weeks. It achieved this using Workday GO and its own FastTrack methodology.
Albida initially joined the Workday ecosystem in May 2024 when Workday expanded its partner network in the UK. In April this year it joined the Workday Value-Added Reseller programme, enabling it to sell as well as deploy the platform.
Recruiting followed to standardise hiring across regions. Workday Learning and Global Payroll are next on the roadmap. Ben Carter, Regional Vice President, UKI at Workday framed the wider significance of the deployment. He said, “For organisations moving fast, the question is not only how quickly they can modernise operations, but whether the foundation they choose can keep pace with what comes next.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
The announcement signals that Workday is actively expanding into the mid-market. Customers benefit from a faster time-to-value and a predictable upgrade path to the full enterprise platform.
Partners such as Albida gain a repeatable, fixed-scope model they can scale across their client base. Competitors now face a lower-complexity Workday option that shares the same data model.
Interact itself gets a single HR system that supports its global expansion without the risk of outgrowing the tool again. The real test will be pricing transparency and partner ecosystem maturity as Workday GO rolls out across additional European markets.
