Globecast Previews MooM Media Orchestration Platform At IBC

Globecast is highlighting its new MooM platform at IBC as the company expands beyond content transport and into broader media operations management.

The cloud-native software, which stands for Media Orchestration and Operations Management Platform, is designed to bring remote production, playout, media asset management, content preparation, headend and OTT delivery into a single operating environment.

Globecast said MooM is built to replace fragmented control layers with a unified interface that gives media companies more visibility, automation and management across hybrid workflows.

The company will show the platform at Stand 5.A61.

MooM is intended to run across AWS, OCI and private infrastructure, with the company saying it can help organizations optimize resources and costs through integrated FinOps and AI-powered operations tools.

Globecast said the platform is designed to help media companies scale services more predictably, launch live events and channels faster, simplify workflows and test new services and monetization models without significant upfront capital investment.

The preview builds on Content Exchange, Globecast’s existing software-defined orchestration layer across satellite, fiber, IP and cloud infrastructure.

Globecast said Content Exchange has already been deployed across sports and media workflows and has given customers more visibility and control over content acquisition and delivery.

At IBC, the company said it will showcase the latest enhancements to Content Exchange, including centralized orchestration, real-time monitoring and automated provisioning for live and file-based content.

It also said the platform includes a role-based portal meant to simplify regional distribution and taker provisioning for rights holders, broadcasters, sports organizations and streaming platforms.

Globecast said its wider technology shift includes modernization across its media services centers in Westlake Village, London, Paris, Singapore, Johannesburg and Rome. That shift has involved replacing hardware-heavy systems with virtualized, cloud-enabled environments across the Americas, APAC and Europe.

Jean-Christophe Perier, Globecast chief marketing officer, said media organizations need fewer silos and a simpler way to make existing and new cloud services work together. Perier said Content Exchange has shown the value of orchestration across media transport and that MooM extends that approach across the broader operational environment.

Globecast said the combined strategy reflects an open, technology-agnostic approach that integrates existing infrastructure with cloud and software-defined services while preserving 24/7 managed operations.

The company said the model is meant to support high-profile live events and global media distribution without forcing customers to replace established systems.
