EVS Introduces XT-S Software-Defined Live Production Server

EVS is introducing XT-S at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Sept. 11-14, in Booth 7.B11. XT-S isa software-defined multi-application server platform the company says is designed to give live production teams more flexibility in how they deploy and evolve their infrastructure.

XT-S joins EVS’s LiveCeption portfolio alongside the XT-VIA server. EVS said the new platform takes a different approach by allowing multiple applications to run on a common server, with teams deploying only the tools they need and adjusting as requirements change.

The platform will initially support LiveCeption replay and UHD zoom. EVS said first deliveries are planned for early 2027, with additional applications to follow over time.

“Live production teams want to modernize their environments, but they also need to know that the technology at the heart of their workflows will perform when it matters most,” said Serge Van Herck, EVS chief executive officer. “With XT-S, we are combining the flexibility of software-defined architecture with the performance and reliability EVS is known for. This gives customers greater freedom to evolve their production environments without compromising operational confidence.”

EVS said the platform is built on patented technology and uses modern CPU and GPU processing, giving the company room to expand capabilities through software rather than new dedicated hardware for every workflow.

The company said XT-S also adds flexibility in deployment, resource allocation and lifecycle management. EVS said modern APIs, interoperability and embedded security are part of the architecture to help protect production operations and preserve data integrity.

Among early adopters, Game Creek Video is using XT-S zoom across multiple sports, while AMP VISUAL TV is adding XT-S replay to its existing fleet of XT-VIA servers, EVS said.

“With demand for premium sports content growing across North America, XT-S zoom gives us a powerful way to get more out of every production,” said Ray Laird, EVS manager at Game Creek Video. “Our teams can create additional angles from the sources we already have, helping us deliver richer, more engaging coverage without expanding the production footprint.”

“We’re excited to explore this new level of flexibility EVS offers through XT-S, which allows us to deploy replay across a broader range of productions, including smaller and remote workflows, while working alongside the XT-VIA infrastructure we already have in place,” said François Valadoux, chief technology officer at AMP VISUAL TV. “Our target with XT-S is to be multi-market compliant, from sports to studio production.”

EVS said XT-S is part of a broader move toward a software-defined and converged live production ecosystem, giving customers another option for modernizing infrastructure while building on established workflows and investments.
