Zero Density has introduced OGraf Studio, an open-source browser-based graphics suite for creating HTML5 broadcast graphics under the European Broadcasting Union’s OGraf standard.
The company said the software is available on GitHub and will be demonstrated at its IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Sept. 11-14, in Booth 7.B01.
EBU OGraf is an open specification that lets a graphic be created once and used across compatible renderers and production environments. Zero Density said OGraf Studio is designed to let broadcasters, designers and developers build, animate, validate, export and adjust data bindings and keyframes without writing everything in code.
The company said the tool can be used to create lower thirds, scoreboards, tickers, full-frame graphics and reusable data-driven templates through a visual interface.
“By releasing OGraf Studio as an open-source project, we are giving broadcasters, designers and developers an accessible way to create, test and improve interoperable broadcast graphics templates,” said Kuban Altan, Zero Density CEO. “IBC is the ideal place to introduce this open-source project and invite the broadcast community to contribute.”
Zero Density said OGraf Studio is based on TypeScript and Node.js and can be run from source or through single-executable distributions for Windows, macOS and Linux. It also said users can run it locally through a browser without installing development tools.
The company said the software includes a WYSIWYG canvas with layers, grouping, guides, rulers, snapping, clipping and responsive layout tools.
It also said users can build independent animation tracks for individual properties, set easing and curves for each keyframe, create local loops and move OGraf steps freely within a timeline.
Zero Density said data fields can be linked to multiple property bindings across layers for dynamic text, images, colors and gradients. Users can preview Start, pausable Step and End behavior in the same timeline used for export, which it said can help evaluate how a graphic behaves before deployment.
Before saving or exporting, OGraf Studio checks packages against the bundled OGraf manifest, module and API requirements, including real-time and non-real-time compatibility, the company said.
Zero Density also said the product includes optional AI-assisted authoring through a localhost MCP server that exposes tools for creating, validating, capturing, certifying, saving and exporting content.
The company said the open-source release lets users inspect the code, adapt it to their needs and contribute improvements through GitHub.
Zero Density said the tool is also a reference for technology vendors and developers experimenting with OGraf creation and export workflows.
