Nugen Audio is introducing DialogCheck v1.2 at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Sept. 11-14, at Pod P27 as interest grows in tools that measure how clearly spoken words come through broadcast and streaming content.
The company said the updated plug-in is designed to help mixers, editors and quality control teams assess dialog intelligibility against a shared framework that is still being developed across the industry.
Nugen Audio said the latest version builds on DialogCheck v1.1, which added expanded immersive audio support, workflow updates and additional analysis features earlier this year.
That earlier release supported projects up to 9.1.6 channels and added a Session Timeline Offset for projects that do not begin at zero on the timeline.
Nugen Audio is also taking part in a broader industry discussion about whether dialog intelligibility should become a quality benchmark alongside loudness compliance.
The company said CEO Dr. Paul Tapper and CTO Charles Blessing are aligned with the Audio Engineering Society’s work on dialog initiatives.
Nugen Audio said its tools are used in post-production, music and broadcast for loudness metering and correction, surround audio, mixing and mastering, tracking and audio analysis.
The company said its products are designed to help professionals deliver compliant audio while saving time and preserving creative control.
