Mountain Home Public Students (MHPS) alongside Baxter Health announced last Thursday it newest and largest White Program class of 2026 as the innovative medical education program for area students continues to grow.
The White Coat program started in 2021 as an opportunity for Mountain Home students to explore health care careers, gain valuable hands-on experience, and learn alongside healthcare professionals. Since it’s start 192 students have completed the program with 42 of those now actively employed at Baxter Health.
Sarah Brozynski, Director of Education for Baxter Health and Tenille Rauls, Medical Professions Teacher at MHPS say the program is a no risk first step into the medical profession for students.

Rauls says teaching the students soft skills needed in a professional environment can be as valuable as the theory being taught in the class.
Listen:
Students train in the Ed and Gayle Goodman Sim Center a specialized wing within Baxter Health that provides access to detailed, simulated environments using advanced medical manikins. Placing IVs, checking vitals and responding to emergency scenarios are all taught, giving real world experiences outside the class room.
Brozynski shares data showing the program is providing real results in local healthcare.
Listen:
Cotter and Norfork are now also sending students as part of the program with Mountain Home Christian Academy and Flippin expected to send students next semester.
For Rauls seeing her students move from the beginning of the journey to active careers has been rewarding.
Listen:
This year’s class of over 30 was back in class this week as they test out and find their fit in the first of many white coats.
