AJA Video Systems has introduced OG-FiDO-4, a new family of openGear-compatible cards that convert between 12G- and 3G-SDI and fiber on four channels.
The company said the nine-model line is designed for multicamera production environments that need reliable, uncompressed SDI transport over LC fiber. AJA said the cards also support centralized monitoring through DashBoard software.
“At a time when multicamera setups are growing in size and complexity across broadcast, live production, and proAV environments, extending SDI infrastructure over fiber has never mattered more,” said Nick Rashby, AJA Video Systems president. “The OG-FiDO-4 family delivers practical, cost-efficient solutions with the channel density, signal integrity, and dependability that mission-critical environments demand.”
AJA said the family includes a base card and fiber SFP variations for 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, single-mode and multi-mode setups. The company said independent, isolated SDI-BNC connectors allow different rates to be carried at the same time.
An integrated rear I/O card can support up to 40 channels in an openGear frame. AJA said the cards also support HDR video, pass-through of SDI metadata, automatic data rate detection, reclocking and hot-swappable operation.
AJA said DashBoard software is available for installation, configuration, monitoring and service updates on Windows and macOS, and added that the cards are compatible with its current FIBERLC TX and RX SFP modules, as well as the OG-X-FR and OG-3-FR openGear frames. AJA said the family uses no more than 8 watts and carries a five-year warranty.
AJA said the OG-FiDO-4 family will be demonstrated at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Sept. 11-14, at Stand 7.B25. Pricing starts at $2,295 and $2,695 U.S. MSRP, and the products will be available soon through resellers.
