Haivision Adds Bonded 5G To Makito ONE Video Platform

Haivision said its Makito ONE video transport platform now supports live video contribution over bonded cellular networks through integration with the new CellLink 5G external modem and antenna array.

The company said the addition gives broadcasters another network option for remote production, mobile units and other live environments where connectivity can change quickly.

Haivision said Makito ONE, which it described as a low-latency, dual-channel, multi-codec encoder-decoder, is designed for 4K, HD and high dynamic range broadcast contribution. The company said the platform supports HEVC, H.264 and JPEG XS workflows, along with native SRT support for secure streaming over wired connections.

With CellLink 5G, Haivision said Makito ONE can also contribute video over bonded networks that combine Ethernet and multiple cellular modems using SST protocol. The company said the setup is intended to improve throughput and load balancing across wired and wireless paths.

“Resilient and reliable connectivity is essential for live video contribution, particularly when operating in challenging network environments,” said Jean Marc Racine, Haivision chief product officer. “CellLink 5G extends resilient cellular connectivity across our live broadcast contribution ecosystem and now, with the Makito ONE integration, we’re giving our customers flexible deployment across field production, mobile broadcast units and temporary event sites while helping them ensure continuous and reliable transmission over public cellular networks.”

Haivision said the CellLink 5G modem and antenna array includes three 5G modems and dual antennas for MIMO 2×2 performance. The company said the hardware comes in a weather-resistant enclosure with magnetic pad and thread mounts and can be installed on vehicles, poles or buildings.

CellLink 5G is also compatible with its Falkon, Haivision Pro and Haivision Air mobile video transmitters, the company said.

Haivision will show the Makito ONE platform and CellLink 5G at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Sept. 11-14, in Stand 2.B32.
