ACC, Kuwait’s leading system integrator, ensures 24/7 airport resilience by leveraging VertiGIS ConnectMaster to manage its critical network inventory.Founded in 1960, ACC is the leading system integrator in Kuwait. It has delivered projects across the country, including solutions to the Ministry of Communication, Kuwait Fire Services Directorate, and the Kuwait Oil Company. The firm delivers innovative technology solutions across various sectors.
As the general contractor, ACC plans, constructs, and operates the telecontrol network at Kuwait Airport. Airport communication systems are critical to operations. At Kuwait Airport, the networks, including the independent network used for avionic and meteorological data that supports flight traffic control, require built-in redundancies.
ACC also supports the office IT environment and other networks. To protect its reputation, the network must be robust; the team must quickly identify and resolve any issues to maintain service.
Since 2013, ConnectMaster has provided the documentation needed to maintain redundancy in the face of increased drone and missile attacks.
What does ConnectMaster hold?
In recent months, the ConnectMaster system has proved invaluable in providing an accurate record of all passive network layers and active network equipment. This accurate record enables ACC to resolve issues quickly.
With operations ongoing 24×7, ConnectMaster details a wide range of components including:
- Trenches, Manholes, Ducts and Multiducts
- Copper cables and Copper Connectivity Devices
- Fibre Cables and Fibre Connectivity Devices
- Copper and Fibre Connectivity Points (Clamps, Splices, Patches)
- Physical Paths (Copper Links, Fibre Links)
- Cabinets (Layout)
- Switches, Routers, Multiplexers (Layout in Cabinet)
In terms of the numbers, the network consists of 350 km of copper and 850 km of fibre cables. These connect 200 cabinets across the facility with around 270 network devices (routers/switches).
To oversee the network, ACC uses a Fiber Monitoring System (EXFOTM) to proactively detect fiber damage and speed resolution. It also combines VertiGIS ConnectMaster’s OTDR Fault Location Analyzer with the FMON Interface to automate fault location.
The tool helps the network team plan and deliver network extensions, manage infrastructure changes, and maintain service reliability as the airport expands.
“For us, it’s essential to have every detail and every redundancy across all network layers under 100% control. It’s also very important that when the airport undergoes expansion, we are well prepared to carry out network extension planning and change management professionally,” says Eng. Wahid Selman, CEO at ACC.

Buddie Ceronie, Chief Commercial Officer & Global GM Telecommunications at VertiGIS, stated, “Having a single, trusted view of network assets enables organisations to manage change more effectively and plan future expansions with confidence.
“That’s exactly what ACC has achieved with VertiGIS ConnectMaster. ACC’s long-term partnership and investment with VertiGIS since 2013 in digital network management is a great example of how infrastructure operators are modernising for the future.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean?
While specific incident data is confidential, the continued reliance on ConnectMaster during heightened regional threats highlights its critical role in operational resilience. ACC has become a recognised leader in Kuwait for the digital transformation of critical infrastructure.
Its partnerships with industry leaders such as Oracle, Cisco and VertGIS have enabled it to deliver projects that demonstrate the resilience that it needed for such operations.
Importantly, this is not a new installation, but one that has demonstrated value for more than a decade. Notably, during this period of high risk, ACC is willing to share details of the system maintaining operations.
Organizations managing similar critical infrastructure should evaluate the accuracy of their own network maintenance records.
