A New Era for Project Management Unveiled in Mission Control 1.82

Aprika Business Solutions has officially announced the release of Mission Control version 1.82. The update arrives on August 28^th 2026, for AppExchange users, and Aprika schedules the production Org upgrade for September 26^th. This major release introduces powerful new tools for financial tracking and operational efficiency and also enhances existing mobile and billing functionalities.

Existing users will benefit from immediate access to these innovations. The focus remains on streamlining complex project workflows. Enterprise Times also received clarifications on some of the new features from CEO Colin Johnson.

Enhanced Financial Visibility

One of the two most requested updates within this release, according to Johnson, is a new Cash Flow Report. The report, though more of a dashboard with a bar chart as well as detailed tables, provides deep insights into incoming business cash. It tracks funds based on actual invoice dates, distinguishing them from revenue recognition.

Users access the report via the Management Pad on the Mission Control Console. The report features flexible grouping by project owner, program or category. Administrators choose between invoice dates or due dates for the data source, and can select how the data will be sourced by a project’s billing type and billing cycle.

Johnson explained, “Historical periods will look at invoices raised, but forward-looking periods will be looking at the schedule of work, billing type, billing cycle, etc. That’s the real power of this report, we offer a variety of Billing Types / Billing Cycles, so it would be impossible to pull this information into a standard Salesforce Report.

“This will look at all of these different scenarios and identify when each Project is expected to raise an invoice and for how much. The report also gives you the option to use the Invoice Date or the Due Date.”

Filters allow teams to isolate specific project segments, allowing for multiple filter settings. They can also set the start date for the cash flow. This granular view helps finance teams predict liquidity more accurately. Users can export this data to CSV files instantly.

Johnson concluded, “The Cash Flow is going to be an invaluable report for Professional Services organisations.”

Mobile Productivity Boost

The Mobile App Action Pad now serves as a true command center for field staff. Users can view to-do lists directly within the Salesforce Mobile app. The interface supports completing actions and checklist items with a single tap.

I asked Johnson whether users can “un-complete” an action if completed by mistake. Johnson replied, “Yes, they’ll be able to undo it if they do it by mistake. This is being delivered as a feature request from customers that have field-based teams using Mission Control.”

The feature is suited to organisations such as construction, energy and solar, where field-based workers are more common. Other vendors have tried similar mobile features; however, Mission Control is not aiming the feature at consulting firms, where most use laptops, but rather in environments where a mobile is used more frequently.

A dedicated time-logging feature allows users to track hours on the go. The timer starts and stops easily with color-coded clock icons. Users can toggle billable status instantly. All changes save automatically to the backend. This reduces administrative lag and improves data accuracy. These field workers can now log time without returning to a desktop.

Purchase Order & Retainer Mastery

The new Purchase Order Manager unifies PO creation and expense tracking. Users manage purchase orders, items, and expenses in a single view. It eliminates the need to switch between multiple tabs.

The feature also now supports multiple purchase orders per project. Customers can issue separate POs for different project phases. Retainer Rollover functionality allows unused balances to carry forward. Teams can set rules to consume oldest or newest balances first.

This flexibility supports complex billing arrangements. It prevents revenue leakage in long-term retainer contracts by enabling the rollover of the unused balance of a ‘Retainer’ Billing Event to be consumed in future periods.

The update strengthens a feature that supports project-based purchase ordering, outside of the corporate finance system.

Advanced Cloning

The Phase Clone feature now copies phases and related milestones effortlessly. Users can choose to include checklists and contributors in the copy. The cloned records can be placed within existing or new projects. The tool creates a draft copy of the original, which can then be amended. For example, updating dates or skills associated with actions before the destination copy is created.

Gantt Chart updates

Gantt Charts now support ten custom data fields per layer. This replaces the previous three-field limit. The WBS and Role Forecast view now combines both datasets. Users can see actions and forecasts in a single unified view. This provides a holistic picture of project demand and delivery. Export services for Gantt charts can now be turned off if needed. These tweaks refine the overall user experience significantly.

Personalisation for the user interface

The new Feature Page Colour Settings allows customers to override standard colour controls for specific feature pages like the Scheduler and Project Grid. Instead of relying solely on global settings or project-level fields, users can now leverage any Picklist Field on the Action Object to dictate record colours.

Enterprise Times asked Johnson about the thinking behind this update. He replied, “This is a feature request from customers. There’s no set template, and it’s not per user, but we’re giving them a preview of what their bar/text colour choices will look like together for accessibility purposes.

“The main reason behind the feature is to provide customers with flexibility on the colouring of their Actions on key feature pages so they can easily identify what type of Action it is.

Aprika could enhance this feature by providing preset templates for certain visual impairments to improve the accessibility of the core product. It will be interesting to see whether they do this in the future. While the flexibility will please existing customers, have they missed a trick for their sales cycle?

Client Transparency & Minor Tweaks

A new Requirements Tab on the Client Read-Only page enhances transparency. Clients can now view requirements and user stories directly. Administrators must configure specific sharing rules to enable this feature.

Another minor update improves the Timesheet Approval process. Users can now filter approval requests by date ranges. The Log Time component now accepts custom field parameters for pre-filling. A Master Team Deactivation setting offers more control over team logic.

Enterprise Times: What does this mean

Customers and partners should take note of the new Gantt Chart features, the extension of customer fields will enable more flexible configuration during implementation and for project managers wanting to extend the richness of their Gantt charts.

This is a significant update from Aprika, with a mix of new and updated features. Aprika has not invested in new AI features for this release; it will no doubt extend these capabilities in future releases.
