Two firefighters taken to Baxter Health while fighting blaze Monday that destroyed house in Clarkridge

Two firefighters were taken by ambulance to Baxter Health Monday afternoon for treatment while battling a fire that destroyed a house in Clarkridge. A Clarkridge firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion and released and a Mountain Home firefighter was treated for a knee injury and also released. Clarkridge Assistant Fire Chief Lisa McMahon says two or three other fire fighters were treated for heat exhaustion on the scene by paramedics from Baxter Health.

McMahon says the home at 282 County Road 1425 was fully engulfed when the first firefighters arrived. One person was outside the home, but it’s not known if anyone was inside the home when the fire broke out. A dog inside the home died in the fire. The homeowner’s name is not known at this time.

The alarm came in at 1:22 and she says the last unit did not return to quarters until 8:00 Monday evening.

It’s not known how the fire started.

The Clarkridge Fire Deparment was assisted by firefighters from Mountain Home, Oakland-Promiseland and Midway with Grover-Township and Rodney-Jordan on standby. Baxter Health had several ambulances on the scene as well.
