By rssfeeds-admin SHENANDOAH – Wildfire smoke all-but smothered northern Schuylkill County and surrounding areas Thursday and conditions aren’t expected to be better Friday.
Thursday was a Code Red Air Quality Action Day as issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Extraordinary haze blanketed the region leading to diminished visibility.
Wildfire smoke from Canada and Minnesota is the cause, state officials said.
Friday is a Code Purple Air Quality alert day according to DEP, meaning air quality is expected to be hazardous for all.
