Overheight truck strikes Mahanoy City railroad bridge

MAHANOY CITY – North Main Street here was closed for a time after an overheight truck struck the Reading and Northern railroad bridge.

The truck, from Keyco Distributors, Wilkes-Barre, was heading south on North Main Street towards downtown Mahanoy City when the crash occurred.

The bridge has a height limit of 11’5″.

No injuries were immediately reported and the truck was removed by Steve’s Towing.
