To evacuate flood storage at Norfork Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be supplementing releases from the available hydropower turbine with two spillway gates Thursday.
They will release the extra water from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. The combined release (spillway and hydropower) will be 4,200 cubic feet per second.
The corps urges everyone to use caution if you plan to be downstream of the dam during these releases.
