New Jersey Music Jamboree Expands to Seven-Day Festival Across Multiple Towns

The 24 Hours of Music Jamboree will stretch from July 12 to 19. Seven towns will host the event, spanning from Jersey City down to the Jersey Shore. Free concerts, jazz shows, and community meet-ups fill the week, all organized by Gregory Burrus Productions.

Per New Jersey Stage, opening day hits July 12 at 3:00 p.m. A 17-piece big band takes the stage at Brightside in Jersey City, led by composer Hyeseon Hong. Shows roll out through July 19. Cranford, Bradley Beach, Morristown, Newark, Orange, and Millburn each get their turn.

Back in 2017, this started as a 24-hour marathon in South Orange. It’s grown since then. The pandemic pushed everything online in 2020. A two-day event came back in 2021, then it ballooned into what we see today.

Vocalist Lynette Sheard performs July 14 at Eastman Clock Plaza Park in Cranford, running 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bradley Beach throws a Summer Jazz Bash on July 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riley Park.

July 16 brings AMANI – The Music of Burt Bacharach to the Morris Museum Back Deck in Morristown, 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This one costs money — it’s the only ticketed show all week. That same day, the Jared Paparozzi Group plays at Eastman Clock Plaza Park.

Express Newark hosts a jazz night July 17, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 54 Halsey St.

The big day arrives July 18. Monte Irvin Park in Orange runs an 11-hour Jazz, Health, & Food Truck Festival from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Houston Person, Matt Chertkoff, Lin Rountree, Nat Adderley Jr., Alexis Morrast, Bradford Hayes, James Gibbs, and a Barry Harris Choir tribute all take the stage.

Everything wraps July 19 at Mt. Zion AME Church in Millburn, 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Linwood Taylor and Christeon Simeon close it out.
