Baxter County man apprehended after manhunt, woman in residence also arrested

   
A Baxter County man was arrested early Thursday morning, about five hours after deputies went to his residence to serve warrants and following a manhunt after the man fled out the back door of the residence. Twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Edward Swadley of rural Mountain Home is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center.

   
A woman in the residence, 35-year-old Jessica Lindsay Raymond of rural Mountain Home was also arrested and is also being held in the jail.

According to an incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to Swadley’s residence and he saw them coming and went inside. When the deputies went to the door, Raymond told them she didn’t know where Swadley was. Even after deputies told her they saw him go into the residence, Raymond continued to deny knowing where he was.

The deputies informed her Swadley has a search waiver which allows them to enter the residence. She told them the dog she was holding is vicious and she needed to put it away and tried to put it away. During that time, there was a loud noise from the other side of the residence where Swadley escaped.

Swadley fled into the wood line and a manhunt was started. The Sheriff’s Office helicopter was used along with a K-9 from the Mountain Home Police Department.

Eventually the manhunt was called off. Several hours later Swadley was found back his residence and arrested.

Swadley is facing a misdemeanor charge of fleeing on foot for manhunt. He also has two revocation and two misdemeanor warrants. His bond is set at $2,885.

Raymond is facing a felony charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution. She is also being held on a parole violation. Her bond is set at $5,000.

ARRESTED TOGETHER BEFORE

Swadley and Raymond were arrested together in April of 2024 for defrauding an elderly Oklahoma woman in a phone scam.

The contacted the 77-year-old woman purporting to being the woman’s granddaughter, saying there was an emergency and they needed her financial institution information.

Once that information was obtained, they made $446 worth of purchases in Gassville.

They were each charged with financial identity fraud, non-financial identity fraud and four counts of fraudulent use of a credit or debit card.

Both were sentenced to five years of probation in plea deals with the state. One of the revocation warrants Swadley had was from this case. The parole violation Raymond is being held on is also from this case.

OTHER SWADLEY ARRESTS

Swadley has two other felony arrests in Baxter County. His charges have included possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been sentenced to jail time in the Baxter County Detention Center and given probation.

OTHER RAYMOND ARRESTS

Raymond has three other arrests in Baxter County dating back to 2016. Her charges include simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, three counts of possession of methamphetamine, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearms by certain persons (meaning she is a convicted felon), second degree endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal trespass. She has been sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, the Baxter County Detention Center and given probation.
