Cezanne has acquired Learn Amp, the learning, engagement and performance management platform. The acquisition was completed in April, but the terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal was backed by NorthEdge Capital, which first invested in the company in 2023. NorthEdge has backed previous acquisitions, including that of Occupop in March 2025, a recruitment application. With LearnAmp, Cezanne brings a mature platform that will help expand and strengthen its offerings around learning, development and engagement capabilities. The platform helps organisations to improve performance and talent retention. Customers include Checkmarx, FreshBooks, Docker, Specsavers and Metro Bank.
Helen Silvester, Reward Manager, Metro Bank, commented, “Learn Amp’s clear interface makes using it foolproof; anyone can upskill themselves to use the platform – even if they aren’t in learning and development.”
Simon Noble, CEO of Cezanne, said, “Employee expectations have changed significantly in recent years. People want more than efficient HR processes; they want opportunities to learn, develop and grow throughout their careers.
“The acquisition of Learn Amp enables us to deliver an even richer employee experience whilst maintaining the simplicity, flexibility and value that our customers expect. We’re creating a platform that supports every stage of the employee journey, from attracting and onboarding talent through to development, performance and long-term career growth.”
Why Buying Learn Amp is important
Recent research has indicated that only 10% of UK employees are fully engaged. That lack of engagement is estimated to cost the UK economy an estimated £257 billion annually in lost productivity. It also means that retention is low. Research from MOL estimates that attrition in 2025 was around 19%, above the European average of 17.4%. More importantly, around a quarter of employees want to leave their current jobs.
Where organisations can make a different in building engagement is through learning and development. Organisations that invest in learning and development see 6.3x higher full engagement rates among employees who receive the right training. To achieve that, organisations need to invest in the right technology. It is not just enterprise organisations; mid-sized companies also need to invest in training and talent to protect their employee base.
The combination of Cezanne and Learn Amp offers the promise to organisations of a complete solution that offers technology to support the full end-to-end life of an employee. Once fully integrated, the organisation can leverage HR, Payroll, L&D and performance management on a single platform.
For Learn Amp, this will give it access to a far wider market. The company has grown mainly organically through angel seed funding, rather than any major investment by a venture capital firm. Cezanne will now support its future growth. The announcement comes ten years after the company was founded.
Joe Hill-Wilson, CEO and Co-Founder of Learn Amp, added, “Workplace tech is evolving fast. The best People Teams demand simplicity without sacrifice. Cezanne HR and Learn Amp are joining forces at the ideal time. To deliver what neither could alone: an amplified, end-to-end employee experience across HR and L&D. We share a vision to make work life work better, and we can’t wait to deliver it together.”
Enterprise Times: What does this mean
Cezanne is looking for growth on all fronts with the backing of its investors. Acquisitions such as Learn Amp and Occupop demonstrate that it is expanding the platform to target not just SME customers but also into the enterprise market.
It is also supporting that growth through product development, such as the launch of its AI-powered analytics module in June and other AI-powered capabilities for HR creators earlier in the year.
The firm strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Julie Lally as Chief Product Officer. Lally will now need to consider how Learn Amp dovetails into the existing platform, to ensure that the integration is seamless.
For partners, this is good news; it gives them a broader portfolio to sell. With a strong existing customer base, it may also open more doors for Cezanne as companies look to consolidate. It is less good news for L&D partners of Cezanne, as the Learn Amp platform may push them aside.
For customers, it offers the potential to either extend their Cezanne platform using Learn Amp or to consolidate onto a single platform.
