Southeast Missouri man injured when motorcycle collides with car west of Midway Sunday

A southeast Missouri man was injured when his motorcycle collided with a car west of Midway Sunday afternoon. The 46-year-old man from Kennett was taken to Baxter Health in Mountain Home for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the car, a 50-year-old from Mountain Home, was not injured, nor was a juvenile passenger in her vehicle. No names have been released by the Arkansas State Police (ASP).According to the ASP crash report, the accident happened when the woman slowed to make a left hand turn. The motorcycle driver thought the vehicle was going to turn right and attempted to pass on the left in a posted no-passing zone. As the car initiated the turn into a private drive, the vehicles collided near the fog line in the opposite lane of travel. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle driver was thrown from his vehicle and came to rest in front of the car.
The motorcycle rider was cited for driving on a suspended license, improper passing on the left and not having a motorcycle license.

The accident happened on Arkansas State Highway 178, near its intersection with Pearl Road west of Midway at 4:20 Sunday afternoon.
