Ringtown, Mahanoy City pay tribute on Memorial Day
RINGTOWN – The dreary weekend weather broke just in time for two local Memorial Day parades.
Ringtown’s and Mahanoy City’s both took place as scheduled Monday morning as communities came together to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country. Weather nixed parades at Girardville, Ashland, and West Hazleton.
Both parades consisted of local community groups, youth baseball and softball teams, Cub Scouts, and more.
Several of the groups were in tractor-drawn floats at Ringtown as well.
The North Schuylkill Marching Band took part in the Ringtown parade.
In Mahanoy City, two bands participated: the Mahanoy Area Marching Band and the Upper Schuylkill Band.
Mahanoy City’s parade also included an antique military truck towing a tribute to fallen service members.
