Woman dies after fall from balcony at Northampton Housing Authority building
NORTHAMPTON — A 32-year-old woman died after falling from a Northampton Housing Authority building early Monday morning.
Police and fire rescue responded to reports that a woman had fallen from a sixth-floor balcony at the NHA’s McDonald House, located at 49 Old South St. at approximately 12:45 a.m. Monday, Northampton Police Capt. Corey Robinson said.
“Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female on the ground,” Robinson said. “Officers, along with Northampton Fire Rescue and paramedics immediately provided life-saving measures, however, those efforts were unsuccessful.”
Robinson said the woman was pronounced dead on the scene and said that she was not a resident of the housing complex.
This incident is being investigated by Northampton Police, as well as the State Police Detectives Unit assigned to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and the State Police Crime Scene Services Unit.
