The move is part of Libsyn’s broader bet on multi-format podcasting as video gains traction. The company said its approach is to give creators one platform to publish everywhere and monetize across formats without added complexity. As a launch partner, Libsyn enables creators to publish and monetize video on Spotify without switching hosts.
Libsyn said all creators on its platform can publish and distribute video across Spotify and YouTube now, with Apple Podcasts’ HLS video support coming soon. The company positioned itself as among the first to offer open, cross-platform video distribution at scale.
“We view video as a natural progression for podcasting — it gives creators more ways to engage audiences, deepen storytelling and grow their businesses,” said Brendan Monaghan, Libsyn president-CEO. “Creators don’t want to choose between audio or video, or between platforms. That’s why we’re opening video to every Libsyn creator — not hand-selecting a few shows.”
Pricing remains unchanged for existing customers, who gain video features within current plans starting at $8 per month. Spotify video distribution is available on plans starting at $25 per month. New creators can start with a 30-day free trial at https://libsyn.com.
