This Cyberpunk Book Nook Kit Is Perfect for Your Mixed Media Library

Physical media collections are cool again. Now that almost everything has gone digital, the allure of a beautifully curated collection of your favorite media has never been stronger. And whether you’re a collector of video games, Blu-rays, or good ol’ fashioned books, one of the easiest ways to breathe life into your library of stuff is to add a book nook into the mix.

Book nooks have been gaining popularity in recent years and there’s actually quite a few brands to choose from these days. But if you’re looking for something that will bring a soft cyberpunk glow to your shelf, the Neo Ramen MiniAlly kit is one of the coolest options you’ll find. It’s also discounted on Amazon right now.

Neo Ramen MiniAlley DIY Cyberpunk Book Nook Kit

If you’re not familiar with book nook kits, it’s worth mentioning that this is a DIY project, so it doesn’t come fully assembled. It’s made up of wood components and comes with pre-designed PCB connections that let you easily attach the LED lights yourself. The lights themselves are powered by four AA batteries that you’ll need to provide yourself, but the results are stunning. It’s a full-on cyberpunk alleyway that could have easily been pulled out of Cyberpunk 2077 or Blade Runner.

Like any cool book nook, it’s all of the little details that make it special. The neon-style lighting is meant to draw your eye in, but there’s a lot to look at once you get in close. The alleyway Neo Ramen bar is the main event, but there’s also a light-up vending machine (with swappable screens), dystopian advertisements, and even some scattered trash. It also uses the classic “endless depth” illusion that makes it look like it leads to a tiny little cyberpunk universe beyond the shelf.

Amazon has a discount on this book nook, dropping the price down to $70. That may seem fairly expensive, but if you compare it to the LEGO book nooks that came out last year it seems completely reasonable. It’s a very solid display item that can quite literally light up your shelf. If you already have a massive collection of sci-fi books, movies, or games, this type of book nook is pretty appealing.
